The DC Department of Public Works will be collecting Christmas trees (the real ones not the fake ones!) and natural greenery from the front tree box area of residences from now until January 27th. DPW will compost the items, so please remove any ornaments, wires, attachments etc... They have not given a more specific pick up date for Glover Park, but a good assumption might be around the second leaf pickup date, which is between January 9th and 13th. After January 27th you may put Christmas trees in the normal trash pickup location on trash day and DPW trash trucks may collect it as space allows. If you live in an apartment or condo, check with your property management first for disposal of Christmas trees and greenery.
