On November 5, 2021, I witnessed and photographed Whitehaven Community Gardener, Robert de Lapeyrouse cut with his saw the vegetation and destroy NPS lands surrounding the Garden. On November 7, 2021, I witnessed and photographed the Garden Manager Matt Riley state that he authorized such activities. This was reported to several gardeners, since the Garden and Gardeners were being used as an excuse for this activity. The Gardeners re-elected these two gardeners and continue to protect and defend them. It is a violation of NPS regulations/ rules and laws to cut vegetation and destroy NPS lands, including those around the Garden.
