Good afternoon, this is Arcadia from the Kid Brain Study group here at the University of Maryland. We are now seeking healthy individuals who are 3-5 years of age to participate in a study on napping and the brain and thought you might be interested. This study involves assessing children’s naps using an “activity-watch”, parent reports, measures of brain activity (or PSG) during a nap and an MRI brain scan.
Participation involves 2 visits to your home during your child’s regular nap time and 1 visit to the University of Maryland, College Park campus. Participation will take place over the course of roughly 16 days, including the two 3-hour in home visits and one 2.5-hour in lab visit.
Children will be compensated $20 for each visit, for a total of $60 (plus an additional $20 for travel expenses). They will also receive a small prize at each visit and receive a picture of their brain to take home!
Weekday and weekend appointments available.
If you are interested, please contact The NeuroCognitive Development Lab (NCDL) at the University of Maryland with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
