Where (or to whom) can I give my lovely scraps of weekly veggies, egg shells, tea leaves, etc...?
I've read that the farmer's market accepts on the weekends but I may need to empty out my compost every few days... any one else interested?
Perhaps, are there are compost lots in the glover park communal gardens? I'm closest to the community garden on 42nd.
I appreciate your feedback.
Food waste drop off DC program: District residents can now drop off food waste at designated farmers' markets in all eight District wards free of charge. The food waste will be taken to a local composting site where it will be turned into compost, an environmentally friendly-soil amendment.

hi Andrea, they dont allow household waste at the composting at the community gardens, only weeds from the gardeners plots. i imagine it might attract vermin or deer. havent heard about the farmers market, i could ask.
